What’s in a name?
Many things can be discovered by the mere presence of a name, dearest. We see this over and over again. Do we not?
The Little One is, once again, confused, Dear Hearts. She has used the term ‘mystified’. Indeed, dearest, we understand, and we shall shed light upon the obvious confusion.
We each have a name; in most cases, dearest, most have a name. Yes?
Good, we now have a premise from which to begin.
Each, if not most, dearest, have a name; a title upon which we hang many things; things such as heredity; yes indeed. We hang heredity upon some, by the use of their heritage. In this case, dearest, we are speaking of the language they use. Their ‘language’, in general, dictates their name. Yes?
Yes. I understand what you are saying for instance: My name is English in origin. Another’s name may be dependant upon their origin, or heritage. Is this what you are referring to?
Indeed yes, dearest, a name is, in general, taken from their home language, indeed. And so, dearest, to where are we leading? We are leading to the inevitable truth. The truth of heritage. Still confused, dearest?
Yes, still confused?
Good, dearest, good. We shall proceed, Dear Heart. When we understand the simplicity of ‘home language’, we receive further appreciations of others. Do we not?
If you are using ‘home language’ in the wider sense of incorporating all that ‘home language’ implies, for example: One’s general outlook upon life; then yes I appreciate that where we live, the conventions associated with that living, the expectations held within that community, etc., all play a part in constructing our thought patterns. Is this what you mean?
In part, dearest, yes. We are a construct, as you’ve said, of the various thoughts and activities we are subject to. Yes?
Albeit welcome, dearest; community, and the constructs they impose, may not always be beneficial. Yes?
Yes. If they are built upon falsities and limitations, then, no; they would not be beneficial.
Indeed, dearest, and this is where we shall leave you.
This seems unfinished!
Indeed, dearest; your words ring true. Unfinished, indeed. And who is responsible for ‘finishing’?
Ourselves; if our upbringing is false and holds us within limitation, then we are responsible for ‘finishing’, so to speak. I believe I now have the understanding.
